Botox for dental conditions, and more.

Botox has been used for years in cosmetic facial treatments to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It’s one of the most popular procedures used by aestheticians. Botox, is an injected serum that comes from a neurotoxic protein. It supports dentists in both oral and maxillofacial procedures. The muscle-relaxing properties of Botox are used at Prairie Lakes Dental to treat dental conditions like high lip lines, jaw pain, TMJ, teeth grinding, and also to address facial wrinkles or lines.

How long does a botox treatment last?

Depending on your condition and the treatment plan outlined by your Prairie Lakes Dental doctor, Botox treatments can last anywhere from 90 days to 6 months. Your doctor may see you several times during your treatment plan to make sure you are achieving the desired results. Over time, the effects of the treatment will begin to fade, so return treatments are needed to maintain results. You will begin to see the results of a Botox injection within a matter of days to a week or two.

Botox treatments from AAFE certified doctors.

Our doctors are AAFE certified to administer Botox treatments. Botox treatments are mainly used when other dental procedures fail to deliver acceptable results. Botox is minimally invasive and is often turned to before any surgical options. Prairie Lakes Dental will often use Botox with other treatments, such as orthodontic treatments, to maximize effectiveness. For example, reducing muscle tension is very effective in controlling bruxism, also known as teeth grinding. Dentists are highly knowledgable in the muscle structures and nerves around the oral and maxillofacial areas of the face, making Botox treatments a natural fit for use in many dental procedures.
